T&C Talks BCS (Part I)

I am not a huge fan of BCS debates. It has some bright spots and it has some pitfalls, but I don’t think anyone is purposely screwing anyone else. What I would accuse some of the bowl folks of is holding too tightly to tradition.

I’ve always thought that the purpose of a college football season isn’t necessarily to crown a national champion, but at the same time I agree a playoff system over the current BCS would be lucrative and compelling for fans. In my mind, the playoffs in college football start in late August – lose one and you’re out. If a team goes undefeated and is favored by 25 points in their toughest conference game, sorry that doesn’t cut it. Read the rest of this entry »





10/9 – What We Learned

Edwin Baker shushes the Michigan crowd. This cost 15 yards but was quite enjoyable to watch.

 

4-2 last weekend on our picks, which is a bit rough. An exciting weekend of college football with the former #1, Alabama going down. Working for the Weekend v2.0

I needed one of those a few months ago.

I’m honestly shocked that ESPN’s College GameDay won’t be in Ann Arbor for theMichigan State @ Michigan game this weekend. Probably fair to assume that ESPN has no plans to send Herbstreit, Corso and the gang to a Big Ten game this year (we’ll have more on this in an upcoming post). After hitting our Thursday night pick by the skin of our teeth,  T&C took a loss on the Saturday Northwestern pick. Give credit to Minnesota, they played out of their minds to keep it close. Can’t win ‘em all…

› Though we missed out 12 PM game bet, a big Michigan State victory cures all! The Spartans showed they have an arsenal of weapons on offense and a stout defense – #20 nationally against the run.
