Pick of the Week 10/16: Iowa @ Michigan

15 10 2010

Iowa DE Clayborn and Head Coach Ferentz

Big win for K-State last night. T&C is 3-0 on Thursday night picks this year. Tell your friends!

The lines:
Iowa -3.5 @ Michigan
Iowa -165/Michigan +145
O/U 53.5

The Pick : Iowa -3.5

If a team that went to a BCS game last season and has, arguably, the best defensive player in the country in Adrian Clayborn, could possibly be under the radar, then Iowa is under the radar. People are thrown off by their one-loss that came at the hands of Arizona in the desert. The Hawkeyes have already pounded Penn State in conference play and had a bye week to get ready to play Michigan. On their bye week, Kirk Ferentz’s team certainly didn’t miss the blue print that Michigan State laid out to slow Denard Robinson.

Just like in 2009, Michigan rolled through their non-conference schedule and the country got excited about the Wolverines. I expect them to have a similar back half of the season as well, with the wheels falling off the wagon against solid Big Ten competition. With the exception of Robinson at quarterback and a worse defense, the team is structurally the same as a season ago.

This is an easy one: take Iowa and give the points.
